 Rochester’s 11th annual Hospice Regatta takes place on Friday, August 21 and Saturday, August 22, hosted by Rochester Yacht Club. This is the area’s largest charity regatta, with more than 60 sailboats expected to race on Saturday, plus hundreds of sailors and Hospice supporters attending great parties on Friday and Saturday.
Proceeds from the event benefit Hospice services provided by Lifetime Care, the Rochester area’s leader in helping families care for loved ones who are terminally ill. Over the past nine years, the Regatta has raised nearly $500,000 to support improvement and expansion of Hospice services, including creation of Lifetime Care’s Hildebrandt Hospice Care Center.
Event Schedule
Friday, August 21:
• Hospice Regatta Community Cruise, 2:30 - 5:30 pm
• Hospice Regatta Clambake, 6 pm, Rochester Yacht Club (RYC), featuring a wine and gourmet food tasting, plus live music, dinner, beverages, and a special remembrance event.
Saturday, August 22:
• Hospice Regatta Skippers Meeting, 8 am, RYC
• Sailboat racing on Lake Ontario, 10 am - 3 pm
• Parade of Boats, 3:15 pm (approx) at RYC
• Party at RYC, 4 pm, featuring live music, barbecue dinner, beverages & raffles.
• Awards Ceremony, 6:15 pm
