Insurance Coverage

Blue Cross, Blue Choice, Medicare, Medicare Blue Choice, Medicaid, and many other health insurance plans offer coverage for services, equipment and supplies required to care for the sick at home.

Generally, health insurance will cover any services and supplies that are medically necessary and ordered by a physician who signs and oversees the patients plan of care.

Some services and materials may be subject to a co-payment. For example, Medicare covers 80 percent of the cost of certain pieces of medical equipment or supplies for home health patients, with the patient being responsible for paying the other 20 percent of the cost.

Insurance coverage for home health care does vary. You can ask any Lifetime Care representative to advise you about what your insurance will cover, or you can discuss it with your physician.
