Pediatric Palliative Care Program PDF Print E-mail
When a child is diagnosed with a potentially life threatening illness, our pediatric palliative care team strives to provide compassionate, collaborative care for the child and the entire family.

Our team of home care professionals supports you and your child from diagnosis through every step of treatment, no matter what the outcome. The goal of this program is to alleviate suffering – physical, emotional and/or spiritual – and to improve your child’s and family’s quality of life.

When being served by our Pediatric Palliative Care program, families may receive:
  • Ongoing assessment of child and family needs
  • Family-centered Plan of Care.
  • Collaboration and coordination among all health care professionals.
  • Advice on pain and symptom control
  • Access to volunteers, music therapy, parent advocates and chaplain services.
  • Access to counseling and other therapies.
  • Special attention to the needs of siblings and other involved children, including guidance on communicating serious issues.
  • Collaboration with community organizations
