In addition to sailboat racing, the Hospice Regatta features engaging onshore activities on Friday, August 20, and Saturday, August 21.

You can enjoy the company of sailors and other Hospice supporters at the Wine Tasting and Clambake on Friday and the Regatta Party on Saturday -- two wonderful parties that both take place this year at Genesee Yacht Club (GYC) on the Genesee River. Each event features a special observance in memory of loved ones who have died, as the Memorial Fleet cruises nearby.

New This Year -- You can also explore the history of the Rochester lakefront by attending the Charlotte-Genesee Lighthouse Tour on Friday afternoon. Then, if you choose, you can stick around for the Wine Tasting and Clambake at GYC.

Memorial Sail

Everyone who attends or contributes to the Regatta is invited to write the names of loved ones being remembered on a special commemorative sail as a permanent memorial.

A fleet of Optimist dinghies rigged with Memorial Sails from previous Regattas cruises along the river during the Clambake on Friday and just before the Awards Ceremony on Saturday, with junior sailors from RYC and GYC at the helm.
